|This gelato bar has about a dozen small caf� tables indoors with some bench seating facing the inset window panes at the doorway for maximum people watching along Fillmore. They call it 'expresso' on the menu, so you've been warned. Using a single-group Elektra, the barista makes a slow, deliberate pour (good) to fill a demitasse near the rim (not good). It has a mottled medium and light brown crema of modest thickness. Flavorwise, it's mostly a smoky tobacco with some expected ashiness. Could be a lot worse.
