The original is in South San Francisco, and there's one on Noriega in the Outer Sunset, but this branch opened in Nov. 2006 in the former Dr. Video space. It is a vast space with no coherent theme. There's flat screen DVD viewing in a sort of "living room" area, wireless Internet stands, and a wall of cheap toy (i.e., gumball) vending machines. They serve waffles (or "eggettes", a Hong Kong import), bubble tea (Taiwanese pearl tapioca teas), and other odd beverage options. Using a single group La Spaziale superautomatic machine, they pull espresso shots with a wispy ring of weak crema. The shot is thin, served scalding hot, and filled high in a paper cup. With an ashy flavor. Despite it being part of a chain, I give it two months before they drastically change their hours; four months to complete shut down. [CLOSED: Shockingly it took a few years. Rockit Swirl as of 2011.]
