|This had been something of a 20-something hip nightspot for years. It's a large space with velvet curtains, shades pulled, and a lot of darkness to hide imperfections that four martinis couldn't. (Any place that intentionally fills the urinals in their men's room with ice is just a little off.) More recently, it changed chefs and announced plans for a major redesign. However, they still produce espresso using a two-group UNIC Twin at the center bar. They produce an espresso with a moderately pale, very thin crema. However, the flavor and body are surprisingly decent and almost interesting. There's an expected mild spice base but also an atypical caramel-like edge to the cup. Served in Mokarabia-logo Inker cups (and cappuccinos in Illy IPA cups).
