|This restaurant is an elevator ride up from Taylor St. The SF Chronicle calls it the best restaurant on the Wharf, and I'd have to agree. The prices are high, but the food (particularly the seafood) is of SF-worthy quality. A nice interior with odd lighting fixtures that look like giant jacks and views over the Wharf. Back in the kitchen they use a single-group Elektra machine and Caff Trieste beans. (They used to serve Illy with a different machine, but they switched due to the expense - and yet they are probably making espresso at least as good.) They serve espresso with a thin layer of lighter brown crema. The cup exhibits an unassuming flavor of spice with a bite of stronger tobacco.
