|Fluorescent donut shop lighting adds to the ambiance at the base of the Parc 55 Hotel. A typical small corner coffee shop/bakery with booths along the windows. They claim to use Illy coffee, but the can the point to is pre-ground and there are whole beans in the grinder hopper (note: they also grind ahead). Even more telling is the flavor, which isn't the least bit Illy. Coincidentally, all their drip coffee equipment is branded by Superior, and their espresso has a very similar flavor. Using a two-group UNIC Torino, they serve an espresso tall in a paper thimble with a pour under 15 seconds. Very little (pale) crema. Strong drip coffee flavor with a slight metallic edge, but slightly better than what's typical for Superior coffee.
