|Officially the "Bazaar Caf & Consignment Gallery," this hidden storefront, since 1998, has a homey atmosphere that feels more like a bed & breakfast than a typical SF caf. Inside are musical instruments and an interesting mix of tables and chairs. Some sidewalk seating outdoors. Quirky music calendar features nightly acts. There's even a CD listening station of their eccentric performers where you can also purchase them. Unusual menu items include hot sake. Using a small La Caramali Malvina machine, they produce a decent layer of medium brown crema. However, it has a bland, one-dimensional flavor of pepper and mild spice. Surprising, since they do wisely relegate their America's Best Coffee beans for only drip coffee.
