|Since 1980, this small Middle Eastern caf hidden in the shadows of the Bank of America tower has arguably served the best and most authentic lunch in all of downtown. And surprisingly decent espresso, given its humble origins. Low-key, convenience store feel with a few tables in back. Owner/barista Gregory "Koko" Ohanessian is beyond friendly. Espresso is served with a thick, rich, pale crema (that holds up well over time) in a huge ACF cup. Good aesthetics, but it lacks depth of flavor - which is mostly a dry, woody taste with some spice. Still, a good deal for $0.75.
