|K.C. & Gina Evans run this converted Victorian flat of a coffeehouse - complete with an upstairs living room complete with plants, sofa, and fish tank. Posters of 1960s Haight-Ashbury musical greats. They roast their own beans and offer a huge selection of teas - not to mention their shelves of home coffee-making gear. Painfully slow service, however, with confusing lines and gabby staff too busy comparing tattoos with the customers. Limited indoor seating and only two sidewalk chairs, making to-go servings inevitable. Espresso is served with a short layer of thicker, medium brown crema in a short paper cup. Herbal flavor with some pepper notes. Not outstanding, but arguably the best espresso on upper Haight St.
