Many small tables indoors and some sidewalk tables on Church St. Using a four-group Faema (with another Faema machine beyond it orphaned to dish storage), they produce espresso with a medium-to-dark brown, even crema with fine microbubbles. You may be lucky to get the one "for here" cup - and moreso if you get a clean, matching saucer. The espresso quality can vary significantly by barista. The pour can vary from a modest, concentrated espresso to an extra-large fill (they currently serve double shots by default, which is a newer development). Sometimes it can have a simple, straightforward flavor that's rather unique - a sharp, unsweetened chocolate-like taste with no bitterness but lacking any sweetness. At other times it can be sharp and slightly ashy, bitter, and metallic. Milk frothing is generally erratic and weak, and sometimes disastrous depending on volume. it comes with a variety of large bubbles and no sweetness - combining it with their coffee makes a relatively unflattering complement.
