|A model, urban Starbucks (and former Pasqua Coffee) that, upon entry, makes you ask, "Do they serve coffee here?" With mood music tailored for a retail clothing store, you're first visually assaulted with all the "stuff": Muppet finger-puppet candy, Tony Bennett CDs, toffee nut popcorn, etc. Somehow they still left some floorspace for seating among several tables & chairs. More retail concept than caf, they still managed to leave it with a somewhat fun, social (and highly commercial) atmosphere. Espresso is served by unskilled baristas from idiot-proof Verismo machines. A very pale, even crema. With a smooth, light tobacco flavor - a surprise over Starbucks' characteristic harsh, burnt coffee taste.
