|Open, airy caf under the Rose Pistola restaurant brand name. Upscale (and tasty) breakfast spot with arguably one of the best designed bathrooms in S.F. Espresso is served with a medium-brown, partially coagulated film of decent crema with a telltale white dot at the center - indicating coffee was in contact with the hot water for too long. The result is an overextracted cup with a burnt edge to its flavor. Top of the cup is a little harsh and metallic but mostly medicinal in flavor. Yet the bottom of the cup is smoother, flavorful, not bitter, and even has hints of chocolate. Served in matching, decorative china.
