|Dark, tiny, understaffed restaurant. Slow service in slacker attire hurts the crema (thin ring of otherwise decent crema, though it can run to paltry) and serving temperature (tepid). Two-group Elektra machine scores style points lost by the lemon rind accompanying the espresso, but they've mostly done away with it in recent months. The flavor can run from medicinal and metallic accents to an overall pleasant cup (with even some chocolate notes) to a funky, pungent taste of what can be best described as a fine, powdery, yet tasteful, coffee substitute. Consistently served in a garage sale of mismatched cups and saucers (IPA, Tuxton, etc.).
