|This frozen yogurt shop marks the beginning of a small chain, if you include its Palo Alto sisters. There's the usual SF signage beating you over the head with "local, organic" everywhere. It's a small space with worn wooden floors and a few indoor tables - plus counter seating with three stools. Using a two-group Linea, they pull shots of Blue Bottle Coffee in classic brown Nuova Point cups. It comes with a mottled medium brown crema, a distinctive Blue Bottle aroma, a body that runs on the thinner side, and a more tepid flavor of mild pepper and spices. While the espresso here is good, it clearly has the potential to be much better. Which leads us to believe Blue Bottle is distributing further out than their quality controls can currently keep up with. At $2.95, it's also one of the most expensive standard espresso shots in San Francisco while being one of its more dubious values.
