|This airport caf whores itself over Bay Area foodie brand names, but why not? If you're paying through the nose anyway, why not do so for something better than the norm? Kara's Cupcakes, Tyler Florence, etc. It's still in an airport, but what's a captive audience going to do. The use of Equator Estate Coffees gives reason for pause, however, as it rarely travels well in the hands of other baristas. But here, armed with a three-group La Marzocco GB/5, they do a half-decent job of it. It has an even, slightly thin layer of medium brown crema - which is practically an improvement for the usual superautomated-machine, squirt-gun espresso. It has a tepid but fresh flavor of mild spice. And milk-based drinks come with a wet microfoam. Not bad.
