|This caf is a bit dated and distinguished for the neighborhood - just the way they like it. It's frequented by elderly matrons and well-heeled new moms who just had their babies at nearby CPMC. The decoration is quasi-European to match their menu: vaguely a casual, dated French feel with nods to Italy and other parts Mediterranean. There's a wooden patio in back that's popular with the outdoor brunch set. Using a two-group Elektra in the kitchen, they pull espresso shots with a medium blonde, thin crema. It has a sad, thin body and very little flavor. What's there in this unappetizing espresso is a wet, diluted, ash and smoke. Served in Lavazza-logo Tognana cups. Cappuccinos are served massive and with chunky foam. Dreadful, if not criminal.
