|This is the remaining SF shop of the Italian bakery chain founded decades ago by the late Elio Dianda of Lucca, Italy. The highlight here are the sugary sweet Italian pastries, even if the place is in the heart of the Latin Mission District. There's no place to sit here, but they do have a two-group Faema from which they serve Mr. Espresso shots in small paper cups. The shots are served modestly full with a darker brown crema of some thickness. With a pungent herbal flavor of cloves and a lot of earthiness.
