|Located in the Orson Restaurant + Bar, this kiosk opened in late 2008 - just as Citizen Cupcake was being evicted on Market St. with the collapse of the Virgin Megastore. The entrance is just off to the right after you walk in to Orson, and the small interior with no seating is just as dark. They offer some pastries and a minimalist lunch menu, but if you come here looking for a cake (as we first did) you'll be severly disappointed. Using a two-group Brasilia machine and Equator Estate Coffees (they use them for both filter drip and espresso), the pull ample shots with a medium pale, even crema that's just barely thick enough for an even coat on the surface. It has a potently fresh flavor that suggest more filter coffee, with some brighter spice notes. But it still qualifies as espresso. Served in classic brown Nuova Point cups.
