|This dive, formerly Korso Cafe, serves Vietnamese diner food and espress to boot. But you get the impression that the previous caf left their espresso machine, and it was easier for the new owners to serve wretched espresso from it than to have the hunk of metal removed. That hunk is an old, two-group La San Marco, and it's typically left with its portafilter handles cooling in the drip tray after any morning coffee "curiosity" (we won't call it a "rush"). They serve espresso with a scant trace of crema in a paper cup. Surprisingly, it has a decent body - in part due to the not-insane pour size. But otherwise the shot is ashy and a bit bitter. Maybe it's not drinking the oil change from one of the nearby automotive shops, but it's definitely foul.
