|This no-frills bakery is the mothership of a two-shop chain (the other located in Napa near the Oxbow Market) that has been operating for over 80 years. They offer metal green café tables on the Main St. sidewalk in front. Inside, while the baked goods are heavenly, the space is more than a little run-down and dank. There's seating for a few dozen patrons among old, beat-up wooden café tables and chairs. There's a black & white checkered floor, mirrors on the wall, and decorative ancient brewing towers on display above the baguette shelf. There are Fetco Lexus brewers in front for drop coffee, and they use a three-group La Marzocco FB/80 with Blue Bottle Coffee for espresso drinks. They pull shots with a darker brown, mottled crema. It has a more robust and potent flavor with berry fruit and some more modest acidity. A lot of sour cherry with almost no chocolate to it. Served in classic brown Nuova Point cups. Milk-frothing here is of decent quality and exhibits deeply textured latte art, although their drinks run on the overly milky side.
