|This café resides within the Filoli Gardens as a volunteer-run fundraising food and beverage stop. A rectangular seating area looks out through glass windows, surrounded by wooded gardens. In addition to pastries and panini, they serve espresso made from a two-group Astoria machine with Metropolitan beans from Superior Coffee. The shot has a thin, blonde layer of crema that scarcely covers a large pull in an IKEA ceramic mug. Not surprisingly, given its pedigree, it has a predominantly ashy and tobacco flavor meant more for milk. To its credit, it's not watered down - but that's just more bitterness to more strongly taste.
