|This spacious café - pronounced "CHEE-bo", Italian for "food" - is located on the north end of the Sausalito strip. It is oddly decorated with bike frames. There are a few outdoor tables among the front parking lot, and inside there are several tables on multiple levels. It is also a bakery and offers a number of breakfast and lunch items, but the Blue Bottle Coffee branding is laid on heavily - as exhibited by the many varieties of roasted coffee available for retail sale (interestingly, it is almost exclusively blends). They also offer a pour-over bar. They served espresso shots using the 17 Ft. Ceiling blend from a two-group La Marzocco GB/5 machine. It produced a dark-to-medium brown crema, a good body in a properly short shot, and a lot of baker's chocolate over some general herbal tones in the background. Once served in classic brown Nuova Point cups, they now use black cups from Espresso Parts. They may be a little quirky here, but they do coffee proudly. Revisits have proven that they have even improved with time and practice: they make a very commendable Blue Bottle shot with a lot of flavor complexity.
