|This busy restaurant seems to specialize in catering to well-heeled clientele out on a business lunch, recovering from last night's drinking binges. (They sell a lot of $14 hamburgers.) Exposed wood beam ceiling, brick walls, exposed supporting I-beams, and a tiny upstairs dining space. There's window counter seating in front, bar seating to the side, and many tables deeper in. They grind their Illy coffee in advance. Using a new two-group UNIC at the bar, they produce shots with a cloudy, pale blonde crema. It's mellow, tasting of mild spices and a gentle woodiness. It tastes a little flat relative to its more robust aroma, but it's still good for restaurant espresso. Served in Illy-logo IPA cups.
