Near gates A1-A12 in SFO's International Terminal is this lighted kiosk/stand for Emporio Rulli. They charge the same price as their regular cafés, but the standard is wholly different. Using a four-group Faema E-91 Diplomat, they pull espresso shots with no crema whatsoever. They are quite small - just two sips in an extra small shot. Yet for the ristretto style, it still lacks the body you'd expect. Flavorwise, it is smoky, bordering on ashy, in a paper cup. For a cappuccino, they manage to pull off latte art with a simple Rosetta and generally decent microfoam - even if it is a bit voluminous. Even so, given the comparison, we recommend the milk-based drinks.
