Review
Owned along with Café de la Presse and two other restaurants, this top shelf seafood dining establishment is considered among the best restaurants in SF. Inside there's a square floorspace with tables and a bar along the side - nothing special. At the end of the bar is a three-group Elektra Extramaxi where they pull espresso shots from single serving pods from La Colombe. The resulting cup comes with a flat, very thin medium brown crema - the sort of thing you'd expect from old, pre-ground coffee. However, there's a certain weight to the coffee on the tongue. So it passes for more than just a typical knock-off restaurant espresso. With a smooth, and mostly dull, flavor of cloves and herbs. They also use the pods for their latte and cappuccino servings, which tend to run dry and airy on the milk froth.
