Review
This location is a Starbucks' dream. Generally upscale clientele at the edge of Russian Hill come here for a neighborhood café with low standards. It's popular with the locals, but there's not a lot of competition. A couple of sidewalk tables out front along Van Ness. Typical colored chalkboard menu. As an art space, however, it has some interesting paintings, jazz music choices, and a reading library among many indoor tables. Using a two-group La Spaziale, the pull espresso shots with a super pale, very thin crema. Tasting drenched and drowned in water and ashiness, you'll wonder if the SFFD came through and put a fire out in your cup.
