Not to be confused with the Mint Café at the Superior Courthouse on McAllister St., though they also sell deli items such as burritos, wraps, and Lappert's ice cream. This is the "Dr. Tichenors" (mouthwash made famous by alcholic homeless) of espresso. In a cavernous space filled with concrete tables at the foot of the 633 Folsom St. Wells Fargo office building, set back from Folsom St., this café uses a stylish two-group Elektra machine to produce high volume crude oil. The resulting cup has no crema and is served darker than night in paper cup. It has an ashy flavor and tastes loaded with water-soluble coffee elements -- namely, lots of caffeine. Shopping cart not included.
