Review
Popular Castro dining hangout and bar with a lot of wood and zinc. Using a silver, single-group heat exchanger machine that looks like an Isomac (or an ECM?), they produce a moderately sizeable espresso with a surface speckled with pale crema. Using Illy beans, they somehow dilute the cup beyond even the sterotypical Illy flavor: the cup is mellow bordering on bland with little aroma. A faint taste of mild pepper with a little cedar. They also serve it at a somewhat cool temperature.
