Review
Very clean, spacious, and well-kept espresso bar. Glossy wooden tables & chairs indoors. Outdoor bench seating for the many dog walkers. Various baked goods and accessories, but the focus is coffee. (It's not shocking that they won the 2003 SF Bay Guardian Editors' Pick for Best All-Purpose Coffee.) Espresso is served from a Cadillac-sized Faema into paper cups. Very dark pour with a modest layer of extremely dark brown crema. Full-weighted body with an intense smoky flavor that can be a bit overbearing (though good for milk drinks). Lingering aftertaste borders on burnt.
