Review
Unassuming coffee bar and ice cream parlor overlooking Sydney G Walton Square in a corporate office park. Colloquially known by the locals as "Lana's" or "Lana's Place", after its owner/operator, Lana Yelnin who opened the shop Oct 1, 1985. Two indoor tables with chairs and a few outdoors. Espresso can be made with Graffeo or, sometimes, Mr. Espresso beans (to your choosing though Graffeo is the default) and is served generally hot and with a moderately sized, rich crema that's on the blonde side. In recent years they've added ceramic ACF cups, but they've also picked up the bad habit of filling the cup to the rim and thinning out its flavor (their morning Russian barista needs to learn what a proper short shot tastes like). It still has something of a malt-like flavor and some woody elements, but they were significantly better circa 2003. A favorite of the military recruiters up the block. Milk frothing is quite poor: large, irregular, spotty bubbles. [CLOSED: as of Dec 2015.]
