Review
This location is cursed. After Miss Millie's closed, it's been recycled as Kookes Cafe and City Grill in just a couple of short years. It's latest, July 2009 incarnation hasn't done much different with the space other than some paint and some new upholstery. It has a dark interior and plays rather loud dining music. There are tables in front and back. Between them lives an old, red two-group La Pavoni. When asked about what beans they use, they mentioned they were roasted by Caffe Greco in North Beach - which makes absolutely no sense since Caffe Greco is an Illy shop. So they're pretty clueless about what's inside, and it pretty much shows in the cup. It has a faint, pale crema that fades quickly. It has a very thin body with a flavor profile that's centered around pepper and spice, making it taste much more like filter coffee.
