Review
These Bay Bread chains are becoming more common than Quiznos. This location, however, is a bit smaller than its sisters and has a more limited menu selection. This is due to the physical space of the location, which was once the sputtering remains of the Oh La La! chain until changing ownership in the summer of '08. They have several front café tables for sidewalk seating in an enclosed area plus a single parasol. Reflecting the limited offerings here, they don't even offer the option of a real cup: it's paper cups only. Even so, they have a dedicated espresso bar that sports a two-group Brasilia, producing espresso shots with a decent layer of richer, medium brown crema. It has a pungent flavor of cloves and some pepper. Ultimately, this is one of the better examples of Equator Estate Coffee in the city (Equator being one of the Bay Area's biggest underachievers in terms of quality-hype-to-results-in-the-cup ratio.)
